National Weather Service is issuing flood warnings for rivers throughout Mid-Michigan

The Flint River is nearing flood stage today according to the National Weather Service.

Flood warnings are being issues across Michigan from the National Weather Service, including many for Mid-Michigan.

The Flint River in the City of Flint is being reported at 10.9 with flood stage at 13.0 feet. It is expected to crest at 14.3 feet by Thursday morning.

Additionally the Saginaw River in the City of Saginaw is expected to go more then 2-and-a-half feet higher then its 17 foot flood stage.

The Cass River from Frankenmuth to Bridgeport is expected to reach 20.7 feet which is over 3 feet above flood stage.

When driving, be sure to be aware of water on the road and do not attempt to drive through water. It is too difficult to tell how deep it is and it could damage or even wreck your vehicle if you drive through it.

We will have much more coverage on the flooding around the area tonight at 6 on NBC25.
