This weekend Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint is hosting one of its largest fundraisers. And NBC25 teamed up to take part, and raise money for the non-profit.
Several area businesses volunteered their time, and money to help BBBS connect kids with older role models.
Saturday afternoon, the weekend-long fundraiser was already closing in on the $200,000 goal.
NBC25's Brett Dickie, Stephanie Parkinson, Erik Columbia, Ilse Lujan-Hayes and Chris Barrus together took part in the event Saturday.
Without the Bowl for Kids Sake event, board members say their day to day operations would be cut.
"This is our largest fundraiser so this will encompass at least three to four months of our time putting this on, and then we are going to move onto our golf outing," said Robert Bois, Bowl for Kids Sake.
Big Brothers Big Sisters annual golf tournament Fore the Kids starts June 20.
