New changes to Saginaw bus routes, new routes in the future
With the new year comes new bus routes for the people of Saginaw.
The city's transit authority, or STARS, announced the changes Wednesday night at a special public hearing.
These changes were made for the people who know these routes the best, riders.
After months of meetings, testing routes and passenger feedback, stars representatives believe these changes will benefit their customers
STARS unveiled adjustments to nine bus routes, most of the changes were adding or changing stops to help improve time management for the buses and make it more customer friendly.
One of the biggest changes, and one that was a constant rider request, was a stop at Covenant’s cancer care center on mackinaw road, that was added to route 106.
The goal of tonight's meeting was to make sure riders knew what to expect when the changes take effect.
STARS representatives and riders also discussed two new possible routes that may be added.
One would stop in Bridgeport, the other would stop in Frankenmuth.
