New Crime Stoppers app allows tipsters to share on the go
FLINT, Mich. —
Crime Stoppers in mid-Michigan is providing a new way for the public to offer information to help prevent and solve crime in their communities.
They have launched a free mobile app called P-3 Tips
The app is anonymous and tipsters can upload images, videos and documents along with tip information.
Once the person submits a tip, they will be given a tip ID and a password, so they can submit follow-up information.
"A huge benefit is that you can upload photos, video, documents...it's all encrypted, it's all anonymous, and that information has been very rewarding for law enforcement trying to solve cases across the country," said Crime Stopper spokesperson Julie Lopez.
There is even an option to chat live with Crime Stoppers.
If you prefer to use a computer instead of your smart phone, you can also use their website.
