New Polls shows Peters leads for Senate, Snyder for Governor

A poll conducted by WDIV and The Detroit News shows that Democrat Gary Peters leads in the U.S. Senate race over his Republican opponent.

Peters holds a slight edge over Terri Lynn Land among likely voters. 39.6% say they will vote for Peters with 35.3% saying they will vote for Land. 23.2% said they didn't know or refused to answer.

The poll also asked a sample of likely voters about the governor's race. 45% of those polled said they will vote for current governor Rick Snyder while 35.2% said they would vote for Democratic challenger Mark Schauer. 18.1% of voters are undecided.

Voters were also asked about what was the biggest issue facing Michigan. Jobs and the economy were cited by over 35% of those polled. Just over 16% said roads are the largest issue facing Michigan.
