NORTON SHORES, Mich. (AP) - A police chief investigating the disappearance of a gas station clerk in western Michigan says he's feeling pressure to solve the case.
Norton Shores Police Chief Dan Shaw says "if this fails ... it will fall on my shoulders."
Jessica Heeringa hasn't been seen since April 26 when she was working at an Exxon Mobil gas station in Norton Shores, 40 miles northwest of Grand Rapids. Shaw says there have been 500 tips from the public.
Many people have been ruled out as having a role in Heeringa's disappearance, including the 25-year-old woman's fiance and a former boyfriend. Police have released a photo of a van that could be related to the case.
Heeringa's purse, car and coat were left at the gas station.
