Wellspring Lutheran Services, the organization that will house 24 undocumented immigrant children in Bay City, is looking to hire people to work with those children.
There are 40 open positions that would work in either the Farmington Hills or Bay City location.
The jobs are described as being ones where bilingual employees would work with the children on behavior, counseling, and working on teamwork skills.
Part-time and full-time positions are available.
The CEO of Wellspring said in a statement that, "Wellspring will provide short-term housing for these youth in Farmington Hills and Bay City. LSSM's role will focus on working with immigration and other federal officials on each child's case, while Wellspring's role will focus on shelter, nutrition, age-appropriate activities and establishing stability in an unstable situation."
The plan to house the children in Bay City has drawn mixed reactions, with protestors making their feelings known outside of city hall on Monday night. Supporters of the plan were also out there in response.
Information about the jobs, and how to apply, is located here.
