Parents charged in drowning death of one-year-old

The Genesee Prosecutor, David Leyton, is charging the parents in the death of their one-year-old son.

They are being charged with second-degree murder and child abuse.

The parents are not currently in custody; there are warrants out for their arrest.

On May 20th the police were called to Holly Avenue in Flint because of a report of a dead child.

When the police arrived they saw the father performing CPR on his son. The child was taken to Hurley Medical Center.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say the child was left unattended in bathtub full of water.

The parents discovered him face down in the water, and authorities were called.
