"Paws" for healing works to cure cancer and stop bullying

SuperCone in Corunna dished out "doggie sundaes" in celebration of a successful Summer for the Paws for Healing walk-a-thon.

The organization supports cancer research for humans and pets and also works to stop bullying.

Group members have dedicated their Summer to raising cancer awareness for man and mans best friend through through tee shirt sales and donations.

Sunday, the pups brought their humans out for a treat in Corunna.

Some of the dogs and owners who attended are suffering from some form of cancer and are using Paws for Healing as support.

"Makes me feel wonderful especially with my dog having cancer herself it's just a way to give back to the community. Basically, we just have to learn to care for her and it's just like with a person. You see her health decline and we have to adapt to her needs every day.," said Melissa Wheeler, of her dog.
