Person of interest in Flint meth lab bust jailed on separate charges

Officials have a person of interest after finding remnants of one of the largest methamphetamine labs in Genesee County in years.

Flint Township Police and the Flint Area Narcotics Group found meth making materials Thursday at a home on Hatherly Drive.

Investigators say the remnants of 36 one-pot meth labs were discovered, the largest find in more than two years.

"Meth has been, it's steadily on the increase in Genesee County. This is our fifth meth lab or meth lab components case that we've had since the first of July," said Lt. Pat Richards, FANG.

"Police do have a person of interest, the former tenant at the home where the lab was discovered.

The person is currently in the Genesee County Jail on unrelated charges.
