Pinconning man identified in weekend shooting death


A Pinconning man faces murder charges in the shooting death of his roommate.

Michigan State Police say 26-year-old Peter Heagany was arraigned in Bay County District Court Monday. Heagany is charged with open murder in the Feb. 8 shooting death of 25-year-old Brian Charbonneau.

Charbonneau was killed at a home on North Huron Street in Pinconning.

Heagany remains in the Bay County jail without bond.

Michigan State Police identify the man shot and killed inside a Bay County home as 25-year-old Brian Charbonneau.

The shooting happened just after 11a.m. Saturday in the 5000 block of North Huron.

Police have not released many details regarding the case.

Lt. Brian Cole tells NBC 25 a "person of interest" was taken into custody but police are not saying whether the person is a suspect.
