Police find body in truck in Saginaw Township

Michigan State Police say green GMC truck was found in the parking lot of the Walmart in Saginaw Township. The truck matches the description of truck driven by Terry Trafford.

The body of a man has been found in an SUV matching the description of the car belonging to a missing Saginaw Spirit player, Terry Trafford.

Michigan State Police say a trooper was driving through the parking lot of Walmart in Saginaw Township when he spotted the vehicle, a green GMC Sierra, late Tuesday afternoon.

"A trooper was traveling through the parking lot, observed a vehicle that appeared to match the vehicle that the missing hockey was last seen driving" says Michigan State Police Lt. Brian Cole "Upon further investigation the trooper made contact with the vehicle and found a deceased male driver inside."

State police have not yet confirmed the identity of the victim.

Trafford was last seen leaving The Dow Event Center around 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 3rd.

Team officials tell NBC25 Trafford was disciplined and then sent home for violating team rules.

However, he was not cut from the team or removed from the roster.
