Police say a decapitated and burned body has been found in a vacant school on Detroit's west side.
The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press report a tip led investigators to the body about 2:30 p.m. Sunday inside the building, which is boarded up and covered with graffiti.
Police say the remains were so badly burned and decomposed that officers couldn't determine whether they were of a male or female.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office plans to work to identify the remains. Tips about the case are being sought by police.
