*** END UPDATE ***

Southeastern Michigan authorities are investigating the possible abduction of an 18-year-old woman.

Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone held a press conference on Friday and said that an air and ground search is taking place.

Malone says that Hayley Turner was on the phone with a friend Thursday night at about 10 p.m. She stopped at an intersection in Bedford Township, which is near the Ohio border. Turner told her friend that she was investigating a person lying on the side of the road.

Turner, according to Malone, then told her friend that a man with a gun was following her. The phone was then disconnected.

Turner's father was called and then then found her unoccupied and idling vehicle.

Haley Tuner is described as a white woman, 5' tall, weighing about 130 pounds.

She has long brown hair, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing an orange t-shirt and black yoga pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530 or 734-240-7700.
