Police looking for man considered armed, dangerous who reportedly fired weapon at wife, kids

Michigan State Police in Lapeer tell us they are looking for a man considered armed and dangerous.

Police tell NBC25 that they received a call around 1p.m. Sunday from a woman saying her husband fired a .22 caliber rifle at the woman and their children.

The victims were not injured and fled the scene.

Police say the location of the incident was at 5721 Reynolds Road in Attica Township.

Officials say the man, 35-year-old Zachary Sofikitis, fled the scene before police arrived.

Michigan State Police, the Lapeer County Sheriff's Department, the K-9 unit, and a helicopter operated by US Customs and Border Protection all searched for the Sofikitis.

He remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

Police describe the man as a white male, 6'1", blue eyes, brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue jean shorts and a blue t-shirt.
