Scott Underwood, 36, of Weidman has been arraigned on charges of manufacturing meth and is currently being held on a $350,000 bond, according to a release from the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office.

Additionally, a 7-year old girl who lived in the home, but wasn’t home at the time of the bust is in the care of a temporary foster family per Child Protective Services following a meth lab bust, according to the release.

The Isabella County Sheriff was requested to assist Child Protective Services with a wellbeing check and to investigate living conditions at a residence in the 5000 block of West Baseline Road in Isabella County’s Deerfield Township just after 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

CPS had information about the possibility of hazardous conditions related to drugs being in the home.

Deputies and CPS were able to speak with a tenant in the home, and were allowed to check the condition of the home, according to the release.

During the inspection, a deputy recognized meth production components and evacuated everyone from the home for their safety.

BAYANET was contacted and responded to the scene, and along with help from the Deerfield Township Fire Department were able to remove some of the hazardous materials from the home.
