Police say Lapeer County man drowns in reservoir

The Flint River Holloway Reserve on Sunday. Dive teams recovered a man's body from the water Saturday night. The Lapeer County Sheriff's Department says the man drown.

A Lapeer County man has died after police say he drowned in a reservoir.

Deputies say 56-year-old Clarence Reynolds drowned Saturday night after diving from his boat in the Flint River's Holloway Reserve. It happened around 5:30 p.m. in Oregon Township.

A friend he was with did not see him enter the water but called 911 when Reynolds did not resurface.

A dive team found the Lapeer man's body just before 8:00 Saturday night.

The sheriff's department says the man dove into shallow water and that alcohol was a factor in the accident.
