Police say a suspect is in custody following a shooting in a Detroit suburb that killed a 2-year-old girl and injured two others, including a second child.
State police spokesman Lt. Mike Shaw says in an email Wednesday that the shooting suspect was being held. Additional details weren't immediately released.
Shaw earlier said one person fired multiple times Tuesday at three people who were outside a home. The Inkster police got word of the shooting around 8:35 p.m.
A 2-year old died at the scene. Shaw says a 12-year-old girl was hospitalized in critical condition, and a 30-year-old was hospitalized in stable condition.
Shaw says police are canvassing the neighborhood and do not yet have a motive. Names of those involved weren't immediately released.
