St. John hospital in Detroit says a police prisoner who was being treated as a patient tried to escape through the ceiling in his bathroom but got stuck in a wall.
Hospital spokesman Brian Taylor says police and hospital security guards "quickly located and apprehended" the male patient on Wednesday.
There was never any danger to patients, visitors or other people Taylor says.
Police say they plan to release a statement later Wednesday.
At this time it is not know who the prisoner was, what he was being treated for or what he was arrested for.
