Program continues to control mosquito population

Residents in Saginaw may notice more small planes in the air over the next week.

Officials in Saginaw County continue a 22-year-program to cut down on Spring mosquitos.

Aerial larviciding began Saturday to control the mosquito population in seasonally flooded woodlands.

The program sprays more than 44,000 acres of breeding grounds.

The planes leaves Harry Browne Airport.

The program takes between five and eight days to complete.
