Purse snatcher caught in Flint Township
FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Flint Township police announced the arrest of a man accused of stealing purses from elderly women.
The incidents happened over two days from October 18 and 19 in the parking lots of local grocery stores.
Four separates unarmed robberies were reported during the early morning hours of those days to Flint Township police.
All four victims gave the same suspect and vehicle description.
On Thursday a Michigan State Police Trooper stopped a car matching the description and arrested the driver on an unrelated charge.
That driver later confessed to the string of unarmed robberies to a Flint Township detective.
He also gave the location of the discarded purses, allowing them to be retrieved by police.
The suspect is behind bars in the Genesee County Jail awaiting a review of charges by the prosecutor’s office.
His name has not been released pending arraignment.
