Autopsies show that two 17-year-old boys were very drunk when they died in a car crash on Interstate 196 in Grand Rapids.
Holland residents Julien Tirado and Kevin Boonheaun died at the scene of Tuesday's crash, and two other people were injured.
Police say Tirado was driving a car that crashed into a guardrail after trying to pass another vehicle about 12:15 a.m. They say the car stopped in the expressway's left lane, where a third vehicle hit it.
Police tell MLive.com and WOOD-TV that autopsies on the teens show their blood alcohol levels were twice the 0.08 percent level that constitutes drunkenness for an adult driver. It's illegal for Michigan drivers under 21 to have any alcohol.
Tirado had no driver's license.
