      Report: Tigers' manager Jim Leyland to retire

      <p>According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, Jim Leyland is going to retire this morning as manager of the Detroit Tigers.</p>

      It is official. After 22 years of being a Major League Baseball manager, the last 8 years spent managing the Tigers, Jim Leyland has retired.

      Leyland was working off of a one-year contract, wanting to address his future once the season was over.

      He was 700-597 with the Tigers.

      According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, Jim Leyland is going to retire this morning as manager of the Detroit Tigers.

      The Tigers have called an 11:30 press conference this morning, but have not said what it is regarding.

      Leyland has managed the Tigers for 8 years, with three appearances in the American League Championship Series and two in the World Series.
