Residential group works to help prevent opioid addiction

Bay County residents are coming together to help fight the opioid epidemic that's hitting the area hard.

Neighbors Against Drug Abuse or NADA, meets weekly at the Auburn United Methodist Church.

The group creates a plan of action of events and places to go to spread information about how to prevent people from becoming addicted to drugs.

All of the members of NADA personally know someone or multiple people who have lost their lives to drugs and the groups focus is to stop addiction before it starts.

The group plans to attend local homecoming games to talk to parents and students about staying clean.

They're also hosting an opioid symposium at Bay City Western High School on October 24th.
