Rev. Jesse Jackson makes tour stop in Saginaw

Civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson took his state-wide ~Rebuild America: Jobs, Justice, and Peace TM tour through mid-Michigan.

He spoke at the UAW Region 1-C building in Flint, and at the Word of Faith International Ministries Church in Saginaw.

Rev. Jackson says the purpose of the tour is to encourage people to call on national leaders to create jobs, protect civil rights, and end war. He also spoke about how important it is to get out the vote for democrats.

He said if voter turnout in Detroit isn TMt more than 12% of the population, democratic candidates will suffer.

His tour across Michigan will end with what he says will be a massive march in Detroit on Saturday, August 28, 2010. It begins at 10:30 a.m. at the UAW-Ford National Program Center.
