RV use goes up during the holidays

5.5 million Americans are hitting the roads in their RV's this holiday season. That's according to an RV trade group. The general manager of General RV in Birch Run says while the Christmas season is slow for sales, it's coming off a great year sales-wise. Troy O'Leary showed us the new Fleetwood RV, that costs over 105 thousand dollars.

Many consider them second homes. O'Leary says this one has 2 bathrooms (actually one is a half bath) along with a queen size bed. There's a flat screen TV, a full kitchen with fridge and gas stove and plenty of space to unwind.

An industry spokesman says, "instead of feeling like they were dragged though the river and abandoned in the woods like many other travels, these RVers will arrive at Grandmaâ??s rest and in good cheer, as they are bringing their homes-on-wheels. Todayâ??s RVs are outfitted with gourmet kitchens, master bedrooms, basements, home-entertainment centers and kitchen sinks. Some even have electric fireplaces to entice a visit from Santa".

With three-consecutive years of increased RV sales, this winter-travel trend is poised to continue to grow.
