Saginaw County waste collection delayed until next week

Mid-Michigan Waste Authority is planning to resume waste pick communities in Saginaw County Wednesday.

The waste collection company says the severe weather and road conditions will impact service in some areas, and progress will be slow and limited.

Residents are asked to be patient while MMWA and Waste Management make their rounds this week.

      ****End Update****

The Mid Michigan Waste Authority has canceled waste collection for communities normally serviced on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 due to road conditions and extreme cold.

The following communities will be impacted:

      The City of Saginaw

      Fremont Township

      Saginaw Township- North of Weiss

      The City of Zilwaukee

Waste collection should resume on your normally scheduled day next week.

      ****End Update****

Mid-Michigan Waste Authority has announced that all communities that were scheduled to have trash picked up today will have to wait until next week for pickup.

Road conditions and extreme cold lead MMWA to make this decision.

The MMWA asks that no trash is placed on the curb today.

The communities that were scheduled to have their waste picked up today are:

      The City of Saginaw

      Brant Township

      Jonesfield Township

      Kochville Township

      Lakefield Township

      Mario Township

      The Village of Merrill

      Saginaw Township south of Weiss

      Swan Creek Township

MMWA says that the weather this week could create more delays as well.
