Saginaw police confirm they have recovered the car that belonged to 23-year-old homicide victim, Angelica Olivarez, but they are still looking for her boyfriend. Police say the 2002 Dodge Neon was found in Lansing, and 24-year-old Michael Lawrence was also seen in the area.
Olivarez was found dead in her house last Monday after her three-year-old son alerted police. Lawrence is the father of the child and has remained at large since he was charged in the 2012 homicide of six-year-old Layâ??la Jones. Saginaw Police Det. Sgt. Brent VanderHaar said, â??We want to talk to him in the death of his baby's mother, so he's not a suspect in that case yet, we want to question him on that. But he does have a warrant for the Layâ??la Jones homicide."
Saginaw and Lansing police are working with multiple police agencies to locate Lawrence.
Crime Stoppers has also displayed Lawrenceâ??s face on billboards in Saginaw and Genesee Counties, and is offering up to $1,000 for information on Lawrenceâ??s whereabouts.
Anyone with information about Lawrence is asked to contact the Saginaw Police Department at 989-759-1598 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL.
