A Saginaw man has been charged with torture in the burning of his 6-year-old son in their home.
State police say Friday that the suspect is charged with assault with intent to murder and first-degree child abuse. He could be arraigned Monday.
The Saginaw News and WEYI-TV report that officers were called to the home Thursday afternoon and found what appeared to be burns on the boy's body and injuries to his head. The child was listed Friday in critical condition.
Saginaw County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Christopher Boyd said other children in the home have been removed and that the investigation continues.
