After today, three Saginaw schools will shut down for good.
Today is the final day of the school year for Saginaw students. It also marks the closing of Jerome Elementary, Longfellow Elementary, and Arthur Eddy Academy.
The district is facing a $32 million deficit, and the school board has voted to close the schools to close that budget gap. This move is expected to save about $4 million.
Students will find themselves at new Saginaw schools next year. They will attend Heavenrich Elementary, Merrill Park Elementary, Houghton Elementary and Daniels Middle School.
