Salvation Army, Food Bank provide healthy food to families in need
BAY CITY, Mich. - The Salvation Army is providing healthy food for those in need.
The organization held a produce giveaway Thursday in Bay City.
They gave the food to families to help supplement those who may have had their food stamps reduced.
"because there is a need in the community for food. Food stamps are being cut and now more than ever people need this extra little bit of food to help them get thru the month," said Sharon Pennell of the Salvation Army.
The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan provided all of the food.
