School names auditorium after influential music teachers

The concert choir sings at Sunday's Memorial Auditorium Dedication Ceremony.

People filled an auditorium in the Mount Morris Consolidated School District Sunday to remember and honor two influential teachers.

The auditorium at Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School is now called the Anderson-Galbreath Memorial Auditorium.

It's named after Dennis Anderson and Ken Galbreath; two music educators responsible for growth of the arts in the district.

The teachers passed away in 2006 and 2007.

Sunday, students, past and present remembered the educators with music at a special "renaming ceremony.

"The community along with the board and the administration just wanted to do something to show how special those two individuals are to our community. They influenced a tremendous amount of students and dedicated their lives," said Superintendent Tricia Hill.

Students were able to submit memories of the teachers which were read at today's ceremony.
