Michigan State Police say another one of the victims of a May 17 accident in Gaines Township has died. Police say 16-year-old Brandon Anderson of Byron succumbed to his injuries. Anderson was one of three passengers who were ejected from the 2003 Pontiac Aztec last Friday afternoon. A 16-year-old passenger from Swartz Creek was pronounced dead at the scene.
An accident Friday afternoon claims the life of a 16-year-old passenger from Swartz Creek and leaves two other teenagers in critical condition.
Michigan State Police are investigating the accident that happened around 4:40 Friday afternoon along County Line Road in Shiawassee County.
Police say a vehicle, driven by a 16-year-old from Gaines, was traveling at a "high rate of speed" when it went through a stop sign, became airborne and crashed into a tree.
The vehicle then rolled several times.
There were a total of six occupants in the vehicle.
Three teenagers were thrown from the car.
Two passengers along with the driver were injured.
Five people were transported to Hurley Hospital.
The 16-year-old passenger from Swartz Creek was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 14-year-old and 16-year-old from Byron remain in critical condition at Hurley Hospital.
Police say the teens appeared to be using marijuana at the time of the crash.
