Shiawassee County declares State of Emergency from storm

According to T.J. Clark the Coordinator of Emergency Management for Shiawassee County, a State of Emergency has been declared.

Numerous power lines are down throughout the county, blocking roads and making travel extremely hazardous.

Not all downed lines have been labeled, be cautious.

All downed lines are being treated as live.

Crews are asking people to stay away from any and all lines and to only call 911 if a downed line is over a roadway or presents an immediate danger.

If you or your family require shelter or assistance with transportation the county is asking people to call 211 and indicate any needs you may have including any animals in the household.
