Shrine Circus organizers at Circus Park in Clio tell NBC25 this year's 69th Shrine Circus at Flint's Perani arena was one of the most successful in years, boasting a huge attendance increase of about 7,000 from 2011 and all with one less show. Circus Chief of Staff Nick Singelis tells NBC25 says the turnout was overwhelming.
"I spoke with guys who have been around the circus for quite some time and have many shows under their belt and they were proud to see these numbers. It reminded them of the good old days. It's not just a one man show there are thousands of people across our 26 counties that work hard to make the circus come off."
The Shrine Circus has now hit the road for a stop in Lansing, and after a break will return to Mid-Michigan at Saginaw's Dow Event center in early February. Tickets are available here.
