Dort Highway was shut down for a short time this morning after a truck hit a power pole.
According to officials, a man was driving a truck while traveling northbound on Dort Highway, when he hit a patch of ice, lost control of the vehicle and hit a power pole. The pole snapped at the base, sending power lines onto the road.
Consumers Energy was at the scene making repairs to the pole and arching wires.
The driver was not injured in the accident.
The road was closed from just south of Pierson Road to Stewart Road.
Icy road conditions are to blame for the accident.
