Slick spots on roads tonight

This photo -- taken in the Imlay City/Capac area -- gives us an accurate representation of how much snow fell in sections of Genesee, Shiawassee, and Lapeer counties today.

Officially, 0.4" of snow fell today at Flint's Bishop Airport.

Although much of this snow melted as it hit the still-warm pavement today, colder air arriving tonight will cause some of this water to re-freeze and create slick spots on roadways tomorrow.

As a result, the National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for the potentially dangerous travel tonight and tomorrow morning.

After an even colder night on Tuesday night, slowly warming temperatures are expected in time for the weekend.
