Snow spreads northward on Thursday

As our current weather system pulls eastward on Thursday, north to northeasterly winds will develop off of Lake Huron producing significant lake effect snow in parts of the Thumb.

Snow will continue to fall tomorrow morning along the I-69 corridor, and pick-up throughout the day over the Thumb.

The area of low pressure creating the snow in our southern counties on New Year's Day will slowly pull to our east, but north to northeast winds behind it off of Lake Huron will give us a window of opportunity for lake effect snow bands to develop Thursday into Friday morning.
