Snowmobilers fall through thin ice on Kawkawlin River

Rescue Workers saved two snowmobilers who fell through thin ice in Bay City Friday afternoon.

Witnesses say a 21-year-old and 23-year-old fell in the icy waters while riding on the Kawkawlin River near the Euclid Avenue Bridge. A passerby quickly called for help.

Neighbors tell NBC25 it is a dangerous area where others have fallen in.

Ice safety experts say rivers can be especially dangerous as their currents can quickly change ice thickness.
