The Ogemaw County Prosecutors has charged a 72-year-old man in connection with a stand off over the weekend.
The suspect has been charged with one count of assault of a dangerous weapon and faces up to four years in prison.
The suspect has not yet been arraigned.
A seven-hour standoff with police in Ogemaw County ended peacefully early Sunday morning.
According to Ogemaw County Sheriff Howie Hanft, police surrounded the home near Houghton Avenue and Valley Street in West Branch around 6:30 Saturday evening.
Police were called to the scene after a man threatened several people with a gun.
The man, who police have not yet identified, remained armed in the home while negotiations with police were underway. The suspect did not have any hostages with him during the standoff.
The suspect surrendered shortly after 1 oâ??clock Sunday morning.
