State Police investigating attempted abduction of 12-year-old-boy in Lapeer County

Yesterday the Michigan State Police responded to a call of an attempted abduction of a 12-year-old boy in the unincorporated community of Silverwood.

According to the MSP the suspect approached the child while the child was cleaning a shed outside at about 2:20 in the afternoon.

The suspect then told the child that the suspect would take the child away to a better place. The child ran into his house.

An adult that was home then ran outside while calling 911, but did not see the suspect.

Police say the suspect may have been driving a white, full-sized pickup truck. The child did not know the make a model.

The suspect was described as a tanned, white man that is about 30 to 40 years old. He was also described as being 5' 11" tall with an athletic build.

According to the child the suspect also had short, dark hair styled with gel, forward to a point. Additionally he had a short stubble beard with a trimmed goatee. The child also described a 3-inch scar on the right side of the suspect's neck. The suspect was wearing a dark orange t-shirt and blue jeans.

The child said the suspect had a deep voice and a bigger nose.
