A Little Free Library designed to look like a robot that was stolen from its roadside home has turned up in a field at a southwestern Michigan tree farm.
WWMT-TV reports BookBot was found dumped in a field of Christmas trees on Monday near the Van Buren County community of Gobles. It's expected to be brought back to Kalamazoo County, where it was stolen from last month.
The former Kalamazoo Gazette newspaper box was originally made into a robot character by Plainwell artist Steve Curl. It stood in front of a Kalamazoo hotel dispensing newspapers before being acquired by library aide Lynn Contos and getting an update.
The 5-foot-tall BookBot was put into service in September outside Contos' home. It was filled with books for all ages.
