      Strong storm impacting Bay county

      Non-severe storms this evening could drop small hail and brief, heavy downpours of rain.

      ***UPDATE: The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Bay county until 8:15pm.***

      A strong storm near Essexville could contain hail up to 1/2" in diameter along with wind gusts in excess of 30mph.

      This storm is only moving to the northwest at about 5mph, so it will primarily impact Essexville only.

      ***UPDATE: The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for southern Midland county until 8pm.***

      A strong storm over rural south central Midland county may contain penny size hail and wind gusts in excess of 40mph.

      It's moving northeast at about 15mph.

      Poseyville is in the path of this storm.

      A strong storm in northwestern Shiawassee county could contain 1/2" hail and winds in excess of 30mph as it moves northeast at around 10mph.

      The town of Henderson could be impacted by this storm.

      The National Weather Service has issued two special weather statements for strong storms.

      One is for Genesee county that expires at 5pm for a strong storm near Flushing that is drifting east at about 10mph.

      The other one is for Lapeer/Sanilac counties for a strong storm near Marlette moving east at about 30mph.

      Both storms are capable of producing 1/2" diameter hail and wind gusts greater than 30mph.
