Subject turns himself in to police in connection to Bronner's bomb threat

Frankenmuth police say that a 15-year-old has identified himself as the suspect in the Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland bomb threat case.

The Frankenmuth Police Department was contacted last week by an attorney who said that he wanted to surrender the subject.

The attorney, the suspect, and a parent of the subject met with police on Friday at the Frankenmuth Police Department.

The 15-year-old was able to tell police details about the case that were not made public.

Police say that wide-spread coverage by the media and on social media prompted the family to turn the suspect in to authorities. Police say that the family and suspect are cooperating and trying to bring closure to the case.

Family members did not know that the subject was involved in the incident until the photos were made public. Once they did find out, they took prompt action, said police.

Right now the Frankenmuth police is working with the Saginaw County Prosecutor's Office to determine how to proceed.
