Suspect turns himself in following "serious injury accident"

Michigan State Police say a suspect turned himself in Sunday morning following an accident in Birch Run late Saturday night.

The accident happened around 10p.m. at the intersection of Gera and Birch Run Roads.

Police say two cars involved in a fender-bender were then hit by a pickup truck.

The driver of the truck then took off on-foot.

Officials say four people sustained injuries following that crash.

Two of the victims remain hospitalized in "stable" condition and two others have been released.

Officials say alcohol was involved in the accident.

The case is being turned over to the Saginaw County prosecutor's office.
