Teen lured into car, fondled by unknown suspect

Around 8:15 Tuesday morning a 13-year-old girl's life was forever changed. Buena Vista Township Officer Russ Pahssen said she left home to make it to class at Phoenix Science and Technology School, but was lured into a 4-door 2006-2008 white Grand Am with silver rims.

A black male in his 30's told her he knew the girl's mother and told her to get in the car. He drove her around the block a few times near 27th and Highland Streets. However, the teenager told authorities that he did more than drive her to school. The man fondled her and then dropped her off at 27th and Webber Streets.

The teen told police that the man was wearing all black and a black hoodie. He had on a black skull cap and has facial hair.

A neighbor who's back yard is the side of the school said now she'll be watching the neighborhood intensely.

"I'm going to be out here from 8 o'clock in the morning. . . till 2:30 till the night. I'm going to make sure these kids are safe," said Debra McLeod.

The incident serves as a reminder to parents to teach their kids to be vigilant.

"I tell the kids around here never to walk alone. Always have a cell phone. If you do, walk in a group," responded McLeod.
