Thanksgiving commuters happy with smooth traffic through Mid-Michigan

According to MDOT, this Thanksgiving more people are hitting the roads than last year.
Any commuters heading through Saginaw County are in for a treat.
The Zilwaukee bridge is now open and most ramps and all lanes are clear.
"I figured today with everyone wanting to travel before Thanksgiving that it would have been pretty busy" says Dueane Hansberger of Lansing.
Thanksgiving commuters are pleasantly surprised with the calm traffic.
"This is the part we were worried about, north of suburban Detroit but so far its a breeze" says Rochester Hills resident Linda Key.
The re-opened bridge is part of the reason for such smooth sailing says MDOT.
"We were able to reopen the bridge and I-75 this past Saturday just in time for the holiday so we are really happy about that" says MDOT Spokesperson Anita Richardson.
Without having to focus on a congested commute, travelers can now focus on friends and family.
"Even though I'm from Lansing, my family is in Saginaw" says Dueane.
"We're just excited to get there and spend some time together" says Linda.
