The spectator stands are set and the sounds of power boats will roar down the Saginaw River in Bay City this weekend for the 27th Annual River Roar.
Even organizers say the unique race, carnival and concert line up is expected to attract thousands once again.
Racers know it as the toughest course along the circuit, 1-1/4 mile long and 700 feet wide with seawalls on both sides.
In addition to the boat racing music fans can enjoy a concert with American rock singer Alice Cooper, who's career spans five decades.
he Bay City River Roar
has generated over $1 million and distributed to various charities through out Mid-Michigan.
Over 100 volunteers are involved with the event. Organizers say their mission is to give back to those who need them most.
