The 58th Annual Flint Olympian and CANUSA Games

The Flint Olympian Games returned for the 58th year Tuesday.

T he opening ceremony was held at Northwestern High School.

Hundreds of young student athletes walked into the stadium in O lympian style.

P art of the event involves the lighting of the torch , similar to the Olympic Games.

A thletes from Flint, Genesee County or students attending Flint based higher education institutions compete in twenty events.

B ut for some kids , it's mainly about having fun in the summer.

Only top athletes from the Olympian Games qualify for the CANUSA games -- an international rivalry between Flint and Canadian athletes.
