Three suspects caught in connection with overnight murderous crime spree in Flint

Police say three suspects have been caught in connection with multiple crimes overnight, including this shooting on Leith and Dort.

Flint police say a murder this morning is also connected to another shooting and multiple armed robberies that took place overnight.

Three suspects are in custody after what police are calling a "crime spree."

It all started last night, say police, at around 7:30 pm when the three suspects carjacked a dark blue Chevy Trail Blazer.

Then, at 8:50 pm, the suspects are believed to have robbed a 57-year-old man at Illinois and Iowa.

From there, officials say, the suspects attempted an armed robbery on the 2800 block of Cherokee.

Then, at 12:35 am, police believe the suspects shot a 45-year-old woman on the corner of Leith and Dort. She was brought to Hurley Medical Center and officials say she is in good condition.

At some point around three in the morning, police say the suspects shot and killed a man on the 500 block of Sheffield.

The crime spree continued as the suspects went to the Hunters Ridge Apartments on the 2800 block of Ridge Cliff at about 3:18 am. There, the police say that the suspects held a gun to a man's throat and stole items from him. The victim witnessed the men enter a Trail Blazer. The victim then called the police.

Then, the police spotted the vehicle travelling northbound on Ballenger Highway. The police attempted to stop the Trail Blazer, but the suspects fled.

At Copeman and Melbourne the men got out of the Trail Blazer and attempted to flee on foot.

The Michigan State Police and Flint police caught one suspect. Later they were able to apprehend the other two suspects.

No other information on the suspects or their victims are being released by the police at this time.
